Helping Animals in Need, Together

Good Samaritan Fund

At Newark Veterinary Hospital, we believe every animal deserves a fighting chance—even those without a family to advocate for them. That’s why we created the Good Samaritan Fund, a donation-supported program that helps cover the cost of emergency veterinary care for stray or unowned animals brought in by kindhearted members of our community.

Whether it’s a stray cat hit by a car or an abandoned dog in need of urgent surgery, these animals rely on the compassion of Good Samaritans—and on your generosity—to receive life-saving treatment.

What Is the Good Samaritan Fund?

The Good Samaritan Fund is used exclusively for the care of animals who have no known owner or caregiver. These are typically pets rescued from the streets or brought to our hospital in crisis by concerned community members. The fund helps offset the cost of:

  • Emergency exams
  • Diagnostic testing
  • Hospitalization
  • Surgery and urgent treatment
  • Medications and recovery support

By donating, you directly contribute to giving these animals a second chance at life.

How You Can Help

If you’d like to support this mission of compassion, there are two easy ways to contribute:

Every donation—no matter the size—makes a difference. Your generosity helps us provide critical care when it’s needed most, and your compassion helps build a stronger, kinder Newark community.

Why It Matters

Our Good Samaritan Fund has helped save countless animals who would have otherwise suffered without access to care. With the support of donors like you, we can continue to provide essential treatment for vulnerable pets until a forever home can be found—or a rescue partner can step in to help.

Thank you for making a difference.
